143 is the natural number following 142 and preceding 144.
In mathematics143 is the sum of three consecutive primes (43 + 47 + 53), as well as the sum of seven consecutive primes (11 + 13 + 17 + 19 + 23 + 29 + 31). But this number is never the sum of an integer and its base 10 digits, making it a self number. Every positive integer is the sum of at most 143 seventh powers (see Waring's problem). 143 is the difference in the first exception to the pattern shown below:
In computingThe standard port number for the IMAP4 protocol. In text messaging slang, 143 means "I love you," 1 for the one letter in "I", 4 for the four letters in "love," and 3 for the three letters in "you".[1] SuperstitionSome people believe 143 three to be a powerful number, often "Stalking" a preson by showing up randomly (but consistently) thoughtout their lives.
