The Afrikaans Wikipedia is an Afrikaans language edition of the Web-based free-content encyclopedia Wikipedia. The project was started on November 16, 2001, and was the 11th Wikipedia to be created.^[1] As of 10 November 2007, this edition has over 8 600 articles^[2] and is the 69th largest Wikipedia by number of articles. Aside from South Africans, this Wikipedia is also used and edited by people from The Netherlands and Belgium.^[3]
