Arbortext is a set of XML-based publishing software applications available from PTC. Arbortext was also the name of the privately-held company in Ann Arbor, Michigan that developed and maintained the software from 1984 to 2005.

In 2004, Arbortext purchased the Swindon(UK)-based Advent Publishing Systems, Ltd., creators of the publishing software Advent 3B2. This software is widely used for publishing of scientific, technical and medical journals (STM) journals (such as the Astrophysical Journal, Cell, Nature, and Science).

In July of 2005, Arbortext was acquired by Massachusetts-based PTC.
