Category:Images on Wikimedia Commons

This category is for images that exist on both the English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons with different names.

To put images and media files now available on Commons in this category:

1. Use {{subst:ncd}} if the filename on the Commons is the same one as the filename here, which will put the image in Category:Images with the same name on Wikimedia Commons as of 5 July 2009. (If the category doesn't exist yet, please create it.)
2. Use {{subst:ncd|Image:Filename.png}} if the file on the Commons uses a different filename, which will put the image in Category:Images on Wikimedia Commons as of 5 July 2009. (If the category doesn't exist yet, please create it.)
3. Please always include the complete image caption and author, uploader and upload date to en wiki ! This is particular true for images under a GFDL or CC-BY license. In the case of {{PD-ineligible}} and {{PD-USGov}} licenses, the uploader and upload history is not crucial.

Before deletion

If you plan to clean out the NowCommons entries remember to check if:

1. The entry on commons actually exists
2. The entry has proper copyright information on the commons page
3. The file names are the same (if not remember to redirect all image links)
4. The file was properly uploaded (preserving GFDL required history of revisions)
5. The file was properly added to an article or category in commons

Post deletion

Restore the {{FeaturedPicture}} tags and inter-wiki links if any (by editing the image page on en and not commons).
