Hu Ge (simplified Chinese: 胡歌; traditional Chinese: 胡歌; pinyin: Hu Ge; born 20 September 1982 in Shanghai, China) is a Chinese film actor and pop singer best known for his portrayal of Li Xiaoyao in The Legend of Sword and Fairy.

CareerEarly workRise to prominenceStardom, 2003-presentMusicWhile filming Legend of Sword and Fairy, Hu Ge was invited to sing two of the recording songs in the soundtrack - June Shower (六月的雨) & Xiao Yao Sigh (逍遥叹). However many critised the music, due to his repetitive use of the words ping and pong in his songs. Ping Pong ContraversyHis use of the words pin and pong in his music caused contraversy many people believing it to be rascist. However Hu Ge defended his actions saying the words accurately depict the annoying asians that dont speak english when they move to primarliy english speaking places. In the mediaCommercial workPersonal lifeCharity workAccidentWhile traveling, Hu Ge became involved in an accident which he survived while his assistant died. Although he had survived, he had to undergo surgery, and the entire healing process took approximately one year. Due to his injury, the filming of The Legend of the Condor Heroes, which he was working on during the time of his accident, was temporarily halted correspondingly. Filmography
