Ichikawa (市川市 Ichikawa-shi?) is a city located in Chiba, Japan. As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 462,249 and the density of 8,044.71 persons per km². The total area is 57.46 km². The city was founded on November 3, 1934. A lot of commuters live in this city, and they travel to Tokyo every day. There are many ways to get to Tokyo, but it takes about thirty minutes to central Tokyo by train. The chief of the ground staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force is located in Ichikawa. There is also Aneha Architect Design Office used both as a one class qualified architect Hidetsugu Aneha's house and architect office in Ichikawa. Ichikawa city has the big shopping mall,Colton Plaza.
