Jack B. Sowards (March 181929—July 82007) was an American screenwriter best known to genre fans for the story and screenplay of the second Star Trek feature film, 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. A native of Texarkana, Arkansas, Jack B. Sowards had numerous writing credits which extended from episodes of The Bold Ones: The Lawyers in 1969 to an installment of B. L. Stryker in 1990. He was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for the September 261971 episode of The Bold Ones: The Lawyers, "The Invasion of Kevin Ireland". He also received a nomination for The Saturn Award for his work on The Wrath of Khan. Jack B. Sowards died in Valley Village, California at the age of 78, due to complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. External links |
