Liuliqiao is situated on the southwestern stretch of Beijing's 3rd Ring Road. The placename means "Liuli Bridge" or "Six Li Bridge", where one li (a Chinese unit) corresponds to 0.5 kilometre.

There is also a transportation hub nearby.

The Jingshi Expressway begins as of Liuliqiao, heading southwest toward Fangshan District, Baoding and eventually Shijiazhuang in Hebei province.
