Lori (Armenian: Լոռի) is one of the provinces (marz) of Armenia. It is in the north of the country, bordering Georgia. Its capital is Vanadzor and Stepanavan is its second largest city. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin. Lori is the birthplace of several famous Armenians including musician Harutyun Sayatyan (better known as Sayat-Nova), poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, Soviet aircraft designer Artem Mikoyan, and Soviet statesman Anastas Mikoyan. The region was affected severely from the 1988 Spitak earthquake. Lori borders the following marzer:
