Pyramid is a progressive rock album by The Alan Parsons Project. It was released in 1978 (see 1978 in music). At the time this album was conceived, interests in pyramids and so-called pyramid power was all the rage. A pyramid could be found on the back of a dollar bill, there were stories in the newspapers about the supposed magical properties of pyramids and of course, the cover of The Dark Side of the Moon (in which Parsons was the sound engineer). The album therefore contains numerous references to ancient wonders, including the Egyptian pyramids. This is most notable in the songs "What Goes Up" and "Pyramania".
