Syntax (logic)

In logic, syntax is a systematic statement of the rules governing the properly formed formulas (WFFs) of a logical system.

In computer science, the term syntax is used to denote the rules governing the meaningful texts in a formal language or programming language, that is, those texts for which it makes sense to define the semantics or meaning.
