The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show is an animated television series featuring characters and storylines from the Charles M. Schulz comic strip Peanuts. It aired Saturday mornings on the CBS network from 1983 to 1986. It briefly re-aired on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon in the 1990s. In Canada, it briefly aired on YTV.
FormatThe series' format was based on two earlier CBS prime-time specials, A Charlie Brown Celebration (1982) and It's an Adventure, Charlie Brown (1983). Episodes typically featured gags and storylines that were derived from the newspaper strip. Segments from the show were released in random compilations during the mid-80s. Paramount later released the original episodes (albeit with newly-added title cards) on nine volumed VHS tapes in 1996. Voice actors/actresses and their characters
